Results
A field of 420 runners braved the oxygen starved heights of Highdown for a 4.5 hike over the summit with panoramic views of Worthing and surrounding coastline. The club gained 100 points finishing in 9th place. Our contingent was Jason Snow, Emma Hughes, David Pike, Emma Wickens, Tim Brown, Mike Moorcroft, Jon McElhill, Nadia Anderson, Tony Cooley, Tom Blaylock, Rebecca Brown, Peter Anderson, Nicola Jolly, Sue Baker, Jill Renson, Martin Fryer, Ian Stevens, Amanda Godfrey and Sandra Nemorin-Noel.

After beating the course record for the Upton (Poole) parkrun on the Saturday James Baker went further westwards on Sunday 5th August to run in the Totnes 10k. This is entirely off-road event attracting 515 runners with the core of the route following the banks of the River Dart. James won the race in a time of 35.19 improving on his time of 12 months ago. Catherine Betts in her first outing after an injury was happy with 71.17 in 333rd place. James then this Tuesday clocked 16.08 finishing fourth in the Run Exe Summer 5k series.

It was a very successful running of the Goodwood Hill Challenge on Monday 6th August with record entry, new course record of 27.20 for the five-mile course, introduction of a junior event and over £2k raised for charity. The results do not show club affiliation so will not record the high number of members who run other than to congratulate Mike Houston for winning the event and with Seth Wise third.
