Southern Athletics League

This year the club is hoping to increase participation in the Southern Athletics League and will be putting on some taster sessions over the next few months. These meets are not  about the elite as everyone competing earns valuable points for the team. As a starter we ask that members note the following dates:

Saturday 25th April – Winchester.

Sunday 17th May – Carshalton.

Sunday 7th June – Lewes.

Sunday 12th July – Portsmouth (Host Club).

Saturday 15th August – Winchester.

Sussex XC Championships

Over 400 runners with  a tenth of them being from the club met on the slopes of Little Common, Bexhill on Saturday 4th January 2020 for the Sussex XC Championships on a pleasant day with underfoot conditions challenging but not as in some years brutal. This year the change of the senior men and women running the same distance was not welcomed by many and the club will be raising these concerns with Sussex Athletics.

Apart from the U17 Men we fielded teams in all categories with excellent performances from all and with gold medals earned by both the U20 Men and Women teams. In respect of individuals Alice Cox-Rusbridge (U20) and Liam Dunne (U17) both finished second whilst it was a bronze medal for Ned Potter (U20). The results are on the Sussex Athletics website and a full report on this website.

Sussex Masters Cross Championships
