Results from the Ditcham Park 10k and 5k races in late April still appear not yet to have been published.

Last Bank Holiday Monday Jan Ring went over to Burgess Hill for an undulating 10k road race that was for some was the final one of a three event series over the weekend totalling the marathon distance. Jan clocked 1.25.53 finishing in 445th place.

On Sunday 6th May Lee Neumann finished in 65th place in a time of 4.51.54 for the Three Forts Marathon (albeit the course is well over the 26.2 miles and takes in the three highest peaks of the South Downs in West Sussex). In the half Emma Hughes (24th – 1.46.18) and Marcus Hammerton (98th – 2.09.33) also both had great runs.

Please do widely circulate the date of the next Beginners’ Group. Mark Ring is again managing this course that starts on Monday 4th June at Oaklands Park.

Thanks to Vicky Balandis, Helen Wilkins and the team for organising the first Summer Handicap Event last week. The times will be published on the website on the link from “Our Races” page and well done to Keri Johnson who was the closest to her estimated time. Please note the results will only include current members. The next such run is on Thursday 7th June.

Please tell Peter Anderson about running in the next three West Sussex Fun Run League matches with this Sunday (13th) the Hedgehoppers at Portslade, on Wednesday 16th May (Beach Run at Littlehampton) and the club’s own race on Wednesday 23rd May (The Trundle Hill Run). His contact is email nadandpeter@btinternet.com.

The next Southern Athletics League match at Poole is on Sunday 20th May. Anyone interested please contact Phil Baker via 01243 533784. It is a fun day and transport organised. All welcome.

Haslemere Border AC are holding for the 30th time their Gibbet Hill 10k on Wednesday 11th July 2018 at 7.30 pm. This is not the easiest multi-terrain course, but it offers beautiful countryside in the Surrey Hills and a most welcome 2 km downhill finish! As there is a 250- race limit advance entry recommended.
