South Downs Way Relay

The club is looking to finalise the three teams for this year’s South Down Way Relay scheduled for Saturday 6th June in the next week or so. If you have not already done so and wish to register your interest, please do so over the next few days. We are also looking for another two people to drive minibuses on the day. Contact is Keith Akerman via akers3@akers3.plus.com.

Taster for Athletics

The next session for juniors in the University Sports Hall (Dome) will be on Wednesday 4th March 4th between 18:00 pm to 19:00 pm. Please let Andy Hall (andy.hall3@gmail.com) know if you have junior athletes who would like to attend this session.

The club also has the option to extend the booking from 19:00 pm to 20:00 pm and this session will be open to all seniors. The space allows us to run high jump, sprints and throws (with adaptive implements) so provides an opportunity for exposure to some of the summer track and field events. Again if you are interested please contact Andy as above or Amanda Godfrey ( amandagodfrey@btinternet.com).

Sussex Grand Prix and Road Race Challenge

There are two race series in Sussex during 2020 that members may be interested in and the dates and details can be found via the links below. Whilst every race is individual entry ideally it would be great to have enough affiliated runners from the club in selective races to make up a (mixed) team.

However, to make this worthwhile we would welcome someone or a group of you to be team manger to co-ordinate representation. There is a registration fee of £60 for clubs in the Grand Prix Competition (21 signed up at present) and your committee is prepared to fund if there is sufficient interest. There is no registration fee for the Road Race Challenge.

If interested either as becoming a manger and/or competing, please inform John by responding to this message via the CONTACT US facility.
