Club of the Year

We are so pleased to be report that Chichester Runners & AC has been short-listed by the SE Volunteer Awards Panel of England Athletics for “Club of the Year”. The Awards Ceremony is on 1st October when four committee members will be attending to represent the club. This is a great achievement to be recognised in this way and we trust that members appreciate the club’s focus on developing potential, providing a wide range of activity suitable for all abilities and our links with the college with all aspects of the club managed by a team of volunteers. It is worth pointing out that well over 70 seniors were at training last Monday evening and over 60 regularly attending the Summer Trails.

WSFRL

On Sunday 28th July a squad of twenty-one went to Henfield for the “Seven Stiles” now a misnomer given the loss of all but one of them. It was an excellent 5th place with a total of 111 points. Our contingent was Emma Wickens, Sarah Morris, Tim Brown, Aleksandra Vargin, Tony Cooley, Nadia Anderson, Jo Prosser, Kevin Williams, Elizabeth Robinson, Amanda Godfrey, Ellen Perry, Tracy Lockyear, Jeremy Harrison, Sue Baker, Peter Anderson, Peter Shaw, Jill Renson, Sandra Balcombe, Gary Tompsett, Leon Perry and Johanna Harrison. Brilliant running by everyone.

The Fixture List continues with the Highdown Hike on Wednesday 7th August, Windlesham House 4 on Sunday 25th August and the very popular Fittleworth 5 (their cakes are excellent) on Sunday 1st September. As ever to pre-enter for WSFRL matches, contact Peter Anderson via either nadandpeter@btinternet.com or 07786 036820 please. Remember entry fee is only £3.
