Newsletter 20th March 2020

We start this short Newsletter with some good news that a few members managed to get in a competitive run last weekend, in addition to those who joined in with the thousands getting their last parkrun fix for probably now some considerable time.

Report from John Miles: “Just thought I will let you know that Keith’s coaching has paid off! Despite getting the bad news on Saturday that the European Duathlon Championship had been cancelled (I was in the GB Age Group Team) I took part in the Bedford Duathlon on Sunday 15th March and came first in my age group. Despite high winds I was very pleased to record 20:20 for the first 5k run. Things then got very hairy on the bike section due to the cross winds (the course was on an airfield) and on the second run I was pipped to the line by a podium finisher in the age group below me. All in all, not a bad morning’s work!”

On Saturday 14th March Ned Potter and Cerys Dickinson represented Sussex in the English Schools XC Championships.

Kim Nelson finished first V50 lady at the West Worthing 10k (Goring) on Sunday 15th March clocking 46.43 in 44th place overall.

A reminder that all club activity has been suspended until further notice. Events cancelled include the WSFRL fixtures on 29th March, 13th April and 14th June.
