James Baker won all five races of the Gosport 5k series with a time of 16.04 in the final one on 13th August. This race brought a landmark of 200 road race wins for James.

A squad of sixteen went over to Swindon on Saturday 17th August for the fifth and final match of the Southern Athletics League. They did the club proud against some very strong opposition with many doing a number of events during the long day of track and field activity.

Event Group - Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start by the pavilion for the cricket pitch on the top part of Oaklands Park (car parking off Wellington Road). It will be a 12-minutes out and back session.

 Trail laid by Guy around Iping Common. From Chichester take the A286 to Midhurst and turn left at roundabout in Midhurst onto the A272 (signed Petersfield). After two miles turn left (signed Elstead) and entrance to car park is 200m on the right. Distance around six miles with option to short-cut. All participants run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Organiser.

Club run led by Vicky suitable for all abilities with meet at 6:30 pm. The venue for car parking is Andy and Jane Harrop’s paddock at Walderton (by side of the first house 300m on right after turning into the lane for the village).  

Final track session of summer at Bishop Luffa School starting at 6.30pm led by Amanda.

It is the Windlesham House Whip 4 this Sunday (25th August) for the next instalment of the WSFRL. This event is followed by the Fittleworth 5 on Sunday 1st September and Tilgate  Forest (Crawley) on Sunday 22nd September. On Sunday 6th October is the Children on the Edge Chichester Half Marathon Event. If you sign up before midnight on Monday 26th August, you can get £2 off of your entry. Just use the code SUMMER19. The discount applies to all three races.

With our policy of publishing local events Lewes AC are holding (unfortunately on the same day as the Chi Half) a 5 and 10-mile off-road events run over a chunk of the re-known “Moyleman” course on Sunday 6th October. See web site www.lewesac.co.uk for details and entries

Best wishes to everyone running over the next seven days to include the above-mentioned WSFRL match and the Arundel Castle 10k on Sunday, whilst it is the final race of the Lakeside 5k series on Wednesday (28th).
