Results

There were 31 entrants from the club at the Sussex XC Masters at Coombe Farm, Lancing on Saturday 19th January. This was a new course that everyone considered was challenging but fair run in the lovely Downs’ countryside. The luxury of a heated barn area for changing with refreshments was a considerable bonus.

There is a full report on this website with the results being on the Sussex Athletics website. Out of the six age categories the club had eight full teams with the Ladies V55 trio of Jane Harrop, Helen Dean and Amanda Godfrey in a silver medal position. As to individuals, Jane brilliantly won the V55 category with fourth, fifth and sixth placements for Richard Miles (V60), John Peters (V40) and Helen Dean (V55) respectively. Excellent effort by everyone on what was a very enjoyable afternoon of XC running.

Chichester Runners & AC`s athletes were at the South of England Championships held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in North London last weekend. Rachel Laurie (U20) competing in her first Indoor 400m found herself  in a good position after the break from lanes at 150m, but unfortunately got boxed in at about the 300m mark, but still managed to come third in a respectable time of 63.28sec. Fleur Hollyer (U17) in the 200m continued where she left off the previous weekend at the London Games by recording a new Indoor personal best of 27.66sec.
