Newsletter 27th July 2018

Training/Activities over next week. 

Sunday 29th July – Unsupervised Club “Three Peaks’ Thrash”. Meet at Northgate car park with start time between 8:15 am and 9:00 am and just run. See the relevant page on the link from “Our Races” on the club website for more details and route. Enjoy!

Monday 30th July – Session led by Tom/Lorna. Meet 6:30 pm outside the “Cricket” pavilion on the top part of Oaklands Park.

Monday 30th July – Cake Run Group led by Vikki. Meet at 6:30 pm for a 6:45 pm start outside the “Rugby Club” pavilion on the top part of Oaklands Park. 

Monday 30th July – Circuit session led by Mark and Amanda. Meet at 6.30pm at Oaklands Park outside Rugby club for warm up with circuits to start about 6.45pm. Warm down and stretches afterwards.

Tuesday 31st July – Training session led by Keith. Meet 6:30 pm at the Cricket Pavilion, on the top part of Oaklands Park.

Wednesday 1st August – Summer Trail Run laid by Eva with meet any time between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm at West Stoke car park for Kingley Vale (SU825088). From the Northgate Roundabout take the Funtington Road (B2178) and when road turns sharply to the left take the right turn signed West Stoke. Go straight across at cross roads and up the hill past Oldwick Farm and then turn left when reaching T-junction. Go through the village and past church and where road takes a sharp left turn right for car park.  Eva is laying two trails of just under 7 and 5 miles respectively. All runners run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Run Organiser. 

Thursday 2nd August – Club Summer Handicap Event No. 4. Meet from 6:00 pm at The Fishbourne Centre off Blackboy Lane, Fishbourne with start time between 6:15 pm and 7:00 pm. The route of 3.87 miles can be reviewed on the Club Races page of the website. No timepieces to be worn please.

Notices
The Get Active Festival this year is being held on Sunday 16th September between 12 noon and 4:00 pm. The joint venues are the Westgate Leisure Centre and the Chichester College with free entry. 

Still time to tell Peter Anderson (07786 036820 or nadandpeter@btinternet.com) about running for the club in the next two matches of the WSFRL namely at Henfield (Seven Stiles) on Sunday 29th July and at Worthing (Highdown Hike) on Wednesday 1st August. 

Sadly, the Hornets Stinger scheduled for Sunday 19th August has been cancelled.

Please note that the Junior Section training sessions at Bishop Otter close for two weeks commencing 30th July. The sessions re-start on Monday 13th August.

Good luck to everyone running this week to include the above-mentioned WSFRL match at Henfield that includes a one-mile junior race at 10:15 am.
