Training/Activities for next 7 days.  

Monday 1st Julysee below.

Foundation Group – Meet at 6:30 pm for a 6:45 pm start outside Rugby Club on the top part of Oaklands Park (car park entrance off Wellington Road). Fourth week of six weeks undertaking various training activities within the park. Led by Vicky and the team.

Development Group Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start by the pavilion for the cricket pitch on the top part of Oaklands Park (car parking off Wellington Road). The session is a jog up to the Centurion Way for a mix of hill sprints and steady pace runs around the green bowl area for about 25/30mins. Warm down will be easy run back followed by stretches. Leader Amanda with support from Marcus and Tom.

Stretch Class Seventh week of course in the upstairs gym room (Studio) at the Chichester College from 8:00 pm. Duration one hour.

Event Group - Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start by the pavilion for the cricket pitch on the top part of Oaklands Park (car parking off Wellington Road). A session of 8 x 3 minutes with 90 seconds recovery.


Wednesday 3rd July – see below.


Summer Trail laid by Peter. Meet Goodwood Triangle car park anytime between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm for a laid trail. From Chichester proceed up Dog Kennel Hill to the Goodwood Horse Racing Course and after passing the main entrance at sharp left-hand bend turn right into the car park. Peter will be laying two trails of around 6.5 and 4.5 miles respectively. All runners run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Run Organiser. 


Thanks to Gary for laying two trails around the Pagham Nature Reserve last Wednesday on a very hot evening. Attendance was nearly 50 and as the RSPB permitted our use and kept the additional car park open later than usual, we will be giving them a donation.

Club run led by Vicky suitable for all abilities with meet 6:30 pm at the Earnley Nature Reserve.


Track session at Bishop Luffa School starting at 6.30pm led by Amanda.



We had representation in the Boxgrove Community 5k on Saturday 22nd June on a very hot afternoon. The results list 130 times but no names but we are aware that Fay Cripps, Mark Jennings, Emma Wickens and Debbie Killhams (36.23) all ran.


Saturday lunchtime may not be the most popular timing for an event, but it did not deter seven from the club going over to Hassocks on the 22nd June for the latest WSFRL fixture. The five-mile Downland Dash laid on by Burgess Hill Harriers attracted 273 runners in hot conditions with our squad brilliantly gaining 57 points for eleventh place. The contingent was Marcus Hammerton (47th – 35.35), Mike Moorcroft (60th - 36.39), Nadia Anderson (83rd – 38.50), Amanda Godfrey (94th – 39.39), Elizabeth Robinson (96th – 39.48), Tom Blaylock (119th – 42.01) and Peter Anderson (166th – 46.23). 


It was a good turn-out of twenty-five U13/U15 athletes for the third match of the Youth Development League on Sunday 23rd June. The team excellently finished second in front of several strong teams. For results click on the YDL website (LAG SW Div. 2).  


On Wednesday it was the third outing of the Lakeside 5k series. James Baker (16.04) was pipped for first place by Jacob O’Hara who finished second last week in our CC5 event followed closely home by Chris West in 10th place (17.23) and then Fionn O’Murchu (20th – 18.44), Justin Eggins (23rd – 18.57), Stephen Davy (34th – 19.48), Jane Harrop (40th – 20.39), Kevin Williams ((64th – 23.41), Andrew Harrop (80th – 26.31) and Sue Baker (81st – 26.41).

Over 40 enjoyed the “Peter Robinson” Summer Handicap last evening with Dave Barty being first home. Thanks to Amanda, Peter and Sam for organising the event and the results will be on FACEBOOK in due course as well as on this website.

Good luck to everyone running this weekend to include on Sunday our U17s and U20s at Bournemouth for their third match of the National Youth Development League, plus on Wednesday the above-mentioned WSFRL match.
