Results

James Baker ran 15.51.3 for a track 5k at Brighton on Thursday 23rd August.

On Sunday 26th August at the Tom Lintern Medal Open Meeting at K2, Crawley James Baker won the Sussex Athletics 10k Championships in a time of 32.48.93. Chris Bird clocked 34.00.64 in the same event.

It was the fifth and final Lakeside 5k race on Wednesday 29th August and it attracted a good turn out from the club. James Baker led the team home in third place (15.41) followed by Mike Houston (6th - 15.56), Chris Bird (8th – 16.07), Jason Snow (42nd – 18.35), Stephen Davy (43rd – 18.40), Keith Akerman (58th – 19.31), Jane Harrop (67th – 19.48), Dan Busher (84th – 20.50), Ian Shaw (90th – 21.30), Helen Dean (95th – 21.52), Andrew Harrop (115th – 24.50), and Sue Baker (123rd – 26.11).

Notices

We move back to Chichester College from October for training. Please remember Club Members attract a discounted membership fee at the College Gym as well as the opportunity to purchase a year’s parking (up to three hours) token for £2. All enquires to desk at the Sports Hall.

Please do tell Peter Anderson (07786 036820 or nadandpeter@btinternet.com) about running for the club in the WSFRL match at Tilgate (Crawley) on Sunday 23rd September. This is a delightful 5-mile event around the undulating paths of Tilgate Forest.

As four out of the five Hampshire XC League fixtures are on the same date as the Sussex League the club has decided not to enrol for the 2018/19 season.

It is understood the Regis 10 on Sunday 14th October has been cancelled. The alternative race “fix” that day is the WSFRL match at Lindfield.

Good luck to everyone running this week to include on Sunday (2nd) the WSFRL fixture at Fittleworth (too late now to pre-enter but you can do so on the day) and those attending track and field events over the next few days.
