On 27th December a smaller than normal field of runners took to the quiet undulating roads around Horndean for the annual 7.3 mile “Pub to Pub”. James Baker won the race in a time of 39.54 followed home by Mary McCutchon 33rd – 57.47), Sue Baker (50th – 66.10), Marcus Hammerton (61st – 72.52) and Stacey Killon (64th – 73.57).

A fantastic number of runners from the club went over to High Barn, Worthing on New Year’s Day for the 2020 WSFRL season opener the aptly named “Hangover 5”. Time prevents us listing the twenty-eight who braved with 450 others the muddy and slippery slopes that earned the club a brilliant fourth place with 113 points.

Many thanks to Tony for laying the trail last Sunday on a glorious morning around Stoughton Woods that attracted a brilliant turn-out of 66 runners and walkers.

As a contingency in case of bad weather, check out the club’s website for any post as well as your email account before setting out.

PS:

There are still some spare places on the Yoga and Stretch classes starting next week  If you are unsure about them, why not come along for a taster session.

Due to the inclusion of an extra WSFRL fixture unknown to the Trail Run Organising Team when scheduling the Winter Programme, the event allocated to the 16th February has been cancelled. Unfortunately, it has not been practical to re-arrange the date and our apologises for any inconvenience caused but it is club policy that trail runs will not be held on WSFRL event days.

Please widely publish the new Beginners’ Group starting on Monday 20th January 2020.

Many thanks to Vicky, Helen and Jo who managed the Handicap run last evening with thirty attempting to get rid of their Xmas period excesses! The timings will be published on Facebook and the club’s website in due course.

Good luck to everyone running over the weekend to include tomorrow the squad of 50 plus going to Bexhill for the Sussex XC Championships. Do let John have a note of your race results please.
