Results

Helen Dean was our lone competitor in the K2 Crawley 10k on Sunday 29th October. This is a challenging course around the undulating Tilgate Forest but with the bonus of the start and finish on the springy K2 track. Helen finished overall in 47th place as second female and first V60 in a time of 48.23.

It was Hove for Richard Woolston on Sunday 29th October for a 10k Prom run. Richard clocked 67.50.

Unlucky did not apply to our 13-runner squad that took on with 319 others the hills above Lancing for the aptly named “Steepdown Challenge”. The club finished a very creditable 10th place with 85 points in this 5-miler thanks to James Baker (1st – 27.54), Claudia Milburn (83rd – 39.07), Tom Blaylock (101st – 40.14), Kevin Lockyear (103rd – 40.18), Tony Cooley (119th – 41.29), Jan Hill (126th – 41.54), Nadia Anderson (128th – 42.00), Amanda Godfrey (137th – 42.51), Elizabeth Robinson (147th – 43.30), Peter Anderson (181st – 46.23), Tracy Lockyear (194th – 47.17), Jill Renson (2223rd – 50.13) and sue Baker (229th – 51.05). Excellent running by everyone.

PS

Congratulations to those who successfully completed their challenge last week to run continuously for 30 minutes. We understand that many of the participants are now targeting a 5k run, likely a local parkrun.

Good luck to everyone running this weekend to include on Sunday the WSFRL “Gunpowder Plot” at Horsham. Too late to pre-enter but you can do so on the day. Also, best wishes to our youngsters who are involved in their first Sports Hall match of the season at Tanbridge School (also in Horsham) on Sunday.

FROM CHICHESTER RUNNERS & AC COMMITTEE.
