Chichester parkrun

Unbelievably it is three years since many of us started the joy of parkrun around Oaklands Park on Saturday mornings. To celebrate this birthday tomorrow (5th August) runners are asked to bring some cakes to munch afterwards and/or a contribution to the Chichester Foodbank, e.g. Sponge puddings, Jam, Tinned potatoes, Smash, Rice pudding, Custard, Coffee, UHT milk, UHT fruit juice, Toiletries, Household items. Thank you.

Trail Run

As promised an extra trail run has been added to the Schedule with Matt de Lacy (07831 081454) kindly laying a trail from the Trundle on Wednesday 9th August. As usual start time is between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. From Chichester go up Kennel Hill past the Goodwood Race Course on right following the road around the bends until reaching a very sharp right-hand turn prior to going down the hill to Singleton. Turn left onto track and car parking is on left after about 200m. If car park full then use the Goodwood Triangle and jog across the side of the Trundle to the meet point. Enjoy!

WSFRL

The West Sussex Fun Run League continued in earnest with Henfield Joggers organising their delightful Seven Stiles on Sunday 30th July. There were 488 finishers for the approximate 4.5 miles around the tracks and paths near the River Adur but with relatively no hills of note to excite our Chairman. The club had eleven participants earning a total of 83 points finishing in twelfth place. Well done to James Baker (1st – 20.32), Graham Woodward (14th – 24.34), Tom Blaylock (111th – 31.09), Amanda Godfrey (123rd – 32.02), Nadia Anderson (127th – 32.10), Lorna Woodward (129th – 32.12), Peter Shaw (200th – 37.28), Peter Anderson (216th – 38.41), Tony Cooley (216th – 38.46), Jill Renson (233rd – 40.09) and Sue Baker (286th – 44.54).

We will post the results for last Wednesday’s wet Highdown Hike next time. Meanwhile to wet (again) your appetites to these great and very reasonably priced events suitable for all abilities the next three races are on 20th August (Hornets Stinger), 3rd September (Fittleworth 5) and 17th September (Tilgate Forest). As always Jill Renson would like to hear from you via 07904 186704 please.
