Training/Activities for next 7 days.  

Monday 8th Julysee below.

Foundation Group – Meet at 6:30 pm for a 6:45 pm start outside Rugby Club on the top part of Oaklands Park (car park entrance off Wellington Road). Penultimate week of six weeks undertaking various training activities within the park. Led by Vicky and the team.

Development Group Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start by the pavilion for the cricket pitch on the top part of Oaklands Park (car parking off Wellington Road). A session, favoured by Mo Farrah, will be led by Tom who has entitled it “The Slippery Slope” that concentrates on negative splits starting with six minutes flat out and after recovery five minutes flat out right down to one minute.  

Stretch Class Eighth week of course in the upstairs gym room (Studio) at the Chichester College from 8:00 pm. Duration one hour.  

Remember Tom Craggs is taking the sole “Monday” session on 15th July.

Event Group - Meet 6:30 pm at Trundle Car Park (not Oaklands Park) for 5 x 3 minutes hill reps. Led by Keith.

Summer Trail laid by Karen. Meet Dukes Road, Slindon (SU951074) anytime between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. From Chichester take the A27 eastwards and on dual carriageway between the two roundabouts at Fontwell take the sharp left turn into Dukes Road with the entrance to the National Trust car park about 300m on the right. Distance seven miles maximum with a shorter option of four and half miles offered by Karen. All runners run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Run Organiser.

 

Many thanks to Peter and Liz for laying the trail last Wednesday from Goodwood Triangle enjoyed by 49 runners (and walkers).

Club run led by Vicky suitable for all abilities with meet 6:30 pm at West Stoke car park for Kingley Vale.

 

Track session at Bishop Luffa School starting at 6.30pm led by Amanda.

 

Results

A squad of fifteen U20 and U17 juniors went over to Kings Park, Bournemouth despite the closure of the M27 on Sunday 30th June for their third match in the Youth Development League. They accumulated 239 points finishing in fifth place. 

It was a brilliant second place for Mark Clayton on Sunday 30th June in the Martello Half Marathon at Seaford clocking 1.23.46. 

On a hot evening where else could you be than at Steyning for the challenging 10k Round Hill Romp as part of the West Sussex Fun Run League. There were 548 finishers including twenty-three from the club who accumulated 102 points for 10th team place. Night at the Darts at Chichester College:

Always wanted to go to the darts but never been able to go! Here's your chance to see some of the world's best darts players and entertainers. Featuring: Former World Champion, Andy `The Viking` Fordham, World number 10, Ian `Diamond` White, Dancing, Devon `The African Warrior` Petersen and PDC Legend, Wayne `Hawaii 501` Mardle. The MC is Sky Sports Legend John Gwynne and the event also features the PDC Cheerleaders.

Notices

A reminder that the next Southern Athletics League fixture for seniors, veterans, U20 and U17 men and women is our “Home” match at Basingstoke on Saturday 13th July.
