Great South Run

New for the 2018 Simplyhealth Great South Run on Sunday 21 October are trialling a bespoke ‘Club Zone’ for a limited number of clubs and club runners. This exclusive Club Zone, ideally situated between the start and finish lines, will offer invited clubs a designated, marshalled area to meet up pre-race, store baggage*, have access to additional toilets and the opportunity to bring their own massage tables should they wish to do so. This area will be restricted to pass holders and the great news is that it’s FREE!

There is limited space available for this trial and can only accommodate approximately 750 people, so this note has been sent only to those clubs with 20+ registered runners. If there are requests for more than 750 spaces, club’s allocation will be drawn by ballot.

If our club is interested in being involved in this free trial, John is required to respond with the below details by Tuesday 9 October 2018. The Organisers will then confirm if our club has received a place with further information on how to get the most out of your club’s space in the Club Zone.

Club name: On-day contact name: Contact phone number: Number of Club Zone attendees:

John is not attending the event so someone will need to take forward as lead. Also, there does not appear to be a list of entrants online, so we do not know who is running from the club. If someone does come forward to lead we would also require the names of those interested in using such facility, if successful. As always just respond by using the CONTACT US icon.

NOTES

Please note that all training sessions are inclusive to all and members are welcome to change back and forth between groups.

It is imperative that everyone attending a club training session wears high-viz/reflective clothing and the Leaders reserve the right to exclude anyone not meeting this requirement. This includes those with head torches as your back also requires to be clearly visible to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike.

Also, please be aware and respectful of pedestrians and other users of the pathway, especially when running in groups. Thank you all for your support in this regard.
