Sandra Nemorin-Noel ran in the Lancing College 10k on Sunday 25th March clocking 63.49 in 297th place and was very chuffed to be third V55.

On Bank Holiday Monday 536 runners lined up at the Lewes athletics track for the start of the first WSFRL match of the season and included was a team of 19 from the club. In difficult conditions the squad battled very strongly and gained 8th place with 108 points. The team consisted of Justin Eggins, Keith Akerman, Emma Hughes, Mike Moorcroft, Simon Ludlam, Tom Blaylock, Jack Godfrey, Amanda Godfrey, Kevin Lockyear, Elizabeth Robinson, Ellen Perry, Tony Cooley, Nadia Anderson, Tracy Lockyear, Victoria Irwin, Peter Anderson, Jill Renson, Sue Baker and Elaine Cruttenden.

Report from Mike Houston. “During a quick visit trip to see my family last weekend I managed to gain a late entry into the Tay Ten Race on Easter Sunday and did not regret. It was a great event, flat route along the River Tay with world class motivating marshals all the way round. It really needs to be seen. Not sure what to report but perhaps this was like London buses? I was over the moon with another victory but unlike the week before I did not have it all my own way having to come back from about 50 seconds down at half way. This was a new 10-mile PB of 55.49 by over 4 minutes so hopefully I can continue this form to London.”

PS

Please do contact Phil Baker about joining the team for the Southern Athletics Match at Andover on Saturday 14th April.

Thank you to Tracy and Kevin for laying the trail last Wednesday in dismal conditions. Some parts of the course were worse than Kingley Vale and especially the South Downs Way section was particularly tough with the full force of a strong wind directly into the runners’ faces. Great fun!

Good luck to everyone running over the next two weekends to include tomorrow (7th) the Sussex Road Relays as well as Charles Rodmell on the ultra SDW50 and the following week the SAL match and on Sunday 15th April those members running in the Brighton Marathon.
