The club is holding its re-known annual road race based at Lavant on Wednesday 20th June with the event starting in Sheepwash Road at 7:30 pm before going out towards Goodwood for a lap of the Motor Racing Circuit. This year the Race Director is our Chairman with Vicky leading on catering.

We do, as always, require help on the evening so if you have not already done so, please respond via the CONTACT US button to volunteer. There is likely now to be entries on the evening, but we do ask that those wishing to run go to MS5 page soonest and pre-enter online or to download the Entry Form.

On Saturday 2nd June James Baker ran in the British League fixture at Portsmouth. He clocked 15.57.81 in the 5000 metres.

The 2018 edition of the 100-mile Beachy Head to Winchester relay took place on Saturday 2nd June. The “A” team of Keith Akerman, Charles Rodmell, Seth Wise, Lucy Thraves, Graham Woodward and Graham Timson with Dave Barty presiding over driving and timekeeping duties. The “B” team was Jason Boswell, Ben Ritchie, John Bullard, David Knight, Ric Pullen and Michael Ridley with Tom Blaylock driving and timekeeping.

The day started at 7 a.m. for the “B's” and 8.15 a.m. for the “A's”. Both teams had to endure thick mist/fog/cloud cover at Beachy Head that resulted in all teams running the first two miles as a group safety first jog to ensure nobody fell off the cliff before the proper racing began! As the weather warmed up so did the pace with both teams setting great times.

The “A” team came in two minutes quicker than last year in 6th place in 11 hours and 49 minutes and the “B” team finished 4th in their category in the fastest “B” team time for a decade clocking 12 hours 54 minutes. A great day as usual with a big thanks to everyone who helped marshal at Littleton Farm. Roll on 2019!

Worthing hosted a 10k road race for over 2000 runners on Sunday 3rd June. In the pack from the club were Andrew Moore (222nd – 44.11), Kim Nelson (300th – 45.58), Harry Sage (326th – 46.58), Greg Maynard (1068th – 57.09), Ashley Pledger (1095th – 57.30), Martin Fryer (1216th – 58.07), Clare Snow (1830th – 67.50) and Ian Stevens (1917th – 68.40).
