Sussex XC League

Please note change of venue to Stanmer Park, Falmer, Brighton (BN1 9SE) for the second match of the Sussex XC League tomorrow (9th November). Please check out the Sussex Athletics website for full details but the timetable remains the same starting with the U11 girls at 12 noon and later on the ladies hearing the starting gun at 2:05 pm and the men at 2:35 pm. Remember it is a reasonable walk from on-street car parking in the area to the park, plus entry on the day. Enjoy.

Results

The Hayling 10 is a long-standing flat road race that this year was thankfully dry and not too breezy for the large field of runners. The club was represented by James Baker (3rd – 55.41), Justin Eggins (24th – 1.01.11) and Kim Nelson (201st & 3rd V50 – 1.16.29).

The last WSFRL match of 2019 (Gunpowder Plot or for your secretary more like a “Plod”) produced a fantastic attendance of 29 runners from the club within the 400 plus field on a gorgeous morning at Denne Park, Horsham. After the steep climb at the start the course turned left directly into a pile of mud (brilliant) and the runners encountered several other such areas along the undulating scenic route around the Chesworth Farm Estate. We will not list our runners here as the results are on the WSFRL website save recording the club gained 107 points finishing sixth club. Great running by all. Next up is the first race in the 2020 series with the Hangover 5 not surprisingly being on the 1st January.
