English Schools XC Championships

In the final national cross-country event of the season, local students from across the West Sussex area played a major part in giving Sussex one of its best all-round team performances in recent years. The organisers of the English Schools Championships at Leeds also deserve credit for allowing the event to go ahead on 18th March with bitterly cold winds and snow forecast for the North of England. In an event to rival the National clubs and inter-counties championships, athletes from 45 counties and areas sent teams to Leeds ensuring that the quality of the races was second to none. Read more

National XC Championships

The 2018 English National Championships returned to Parliament Hill Fields, London on Saturday 24th January 2018 for the first time in three years and witnessed record fields over the 10 races with nearly 6500 runners completing the various courses, over 1000 more than the previous record when the event was last held in London in 2015. The sport of Cross Country running is currently booming both at club and county levels with the recent South of England Championships at Brighton in January giving further proof of its popularity. Read more

Sussex Masters XC Championships

Running in testing conditions on one of the hardest courses in the county, Chichester’s squad of 27 veteran athletes produced some fine performances and returned with medals from the Sussex Masters’ Championships at Lancing Manor on Saturday 20th January 2018.  Read more

Sussex XC Championship Report

The first Saturday in January sees cross country runners from across the country assemble for their County Championships with Sussex athletes no exception. They headed to Bexhill to do battle over a challenging, muddy and undulating course with Chichester athletes giving a good account of themselves across all twelve age groups. The highlights were a clutch of top three individual placings, plus a team first and second but every one of the nearly 50 strong squad ensured that Chichester emerged once again as one of the county’s top cross-country clubs. Read more

Chichester sent a squad of 51 athletes to the third round of the Sussex Cross Country League held over the testing Lancing Manor course last Saturday 2nd December 2017.  Read more

Sussex XC League Match 2 at Bexhill

Conditions at the undulating Bexhill course were near on ideal for the 600 runners at the second fixture in the Sussex Cross Country League on Saturday 11th November 2017.  Read more

Sussex XC League - Match 1

There were record fields in the first fixture of the Sussex Cross Country League at Goodwood on Saturday 14th October 2017 with over 600 of the best athletes in the county competing in the nine-race programme.  Read more

Goodwood Relays

Chichester’s Cross-Country season got off to a flying start at Goodwood Country Park on Saturday 30th September 2017. 

For the 16th year, Chichester Runners & AC hosted the Sussex Cross Country relays in conjunction with their open event. The race has seen some illustrious names take part over the years including internationals Charlie Grice, Steff Twell and Andy Vernon.
