Exmoor Stagger 19th Oct 2014

Taking advantage of a break in the West Country, James Baker continued his domination of longer off-road events in the South by retaining his title in the Challenging Exmoor Stagger 15 miles Fell Race on Sunday.

This was the 5th win in succession for the Chichester man in an event which takes in the highest point on Exmoor, the 1702ft Dunkery Beacon. His finishing time for the event was another excellent sub 2 hour clocking in 1 hour 55 minutes and 20 seconds, almost exactly 3 minutes ahead of the runner-up and another 11 minutes back to 3rd place.

Many noted West Country fell runners have tried to break Baker’s stranglehold on the event but the Sussex invader has had all the answers since his first appearance in 2010.
