Newstetter 21st February 2020

Training/Activities for next 8 days.  

Friday 21st February – see below.

Yoga Classes (Final of current series) led by Katie namely:

 

5:00 pm (attend at 4:45 pm please) in the upstairs Multi Use Gym Studio, Chichester College, and

 

7:00 pm at the Newell Centre, Tozer Way, (off St Pancras) Chi, PO19 7LG.

Sunday 23rd February – see below:

Trail Run: Trail kindly laid by Tom and Amanda. Meet in lay-by at Bury off the A29 anytime between 11:00 am and 11:30 am.

From Chichester take the A27 eastwards and at second roundabout at Fontwell take the A29 towards Slindon and continue up to the Whiteways roundabout. Bear left taking the A29 along the top of the Downs and down the steep winding hill into Bury and about 100 meters after cross-roads (note public house on right) bear off left onto the service road for Hillside Nurseries and park in the service road. Please take care as this is a busy and fast stretch of road even on a Sunday morning. 

Distances around 6.5 and 4.5 miles. All participants run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Organiser. Enjoy!

Beginners’ GroupFifth session of eight-week course starting at 6:30 pm with meet in Clubroom 2 at The Pavilion, Chichester College. This course is being led by the Foundation Group Team with Vicky Balandis the contact (vickybal75@gmail.com).

Foundation Group – Meet at 6:30 pm for a 6:45 pm start in Clubroom 2 at The Pavilion, Chichester College. Led by Vicky and the team.

Development Group Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start in Clubroom 2 at The Pavilion, Chichester College. It is a jog up to the city centre for a sprints’ session led by Amanda.

Stretch Class No class this week. An extra evening will be tagged on to the end of the current series. Class managed by Graham Woodward (gwoodward7@gmail.com).

Tuesday 25th February – see below.

Event Group - Meet at 6:30 pm for a prompt start in Clubroom 2 at The Pavilion, Chichester College. It will be a session of 8 x 800m reps with three minutes recovery. Led by Keith.

Wednesday 26th February – see below.

Chichester Corporate Challenge starting at 6:30 pm with meet outside the Assembly Rooms in North Street. Entry information can be found on the link from the Home Page of the club’s website. Anyone else who can assist please let John know and he will pass on your name to Helen (Wilkins) who is co-ordinating the Volunteer List.

A day-time session led by Jon. Meet 10:30 am at Rugby Club Pavilion, Oaklands Park.

Beginners’ Group – “Leader” led session at 6:30 pm with meet outside The Pavilion, Chichester College. 

Quiz/Buffet Evening -  Food served from 7:00 pm and the quiz starts around 7:45 pm in the Clubrooms of The Pavilion, Chichester College. Register with John please by responding via the CONTACT US facility of this website soonest as only around 15 places left. Everyone welcome including guests. Cost overall is only £8. Drinks can be purchased from the bar and please do not bring your own. 

Sunday 1st March – see below.

Trail Run: Trail kindly laid by Jeremy and Johanna. Meet in the car park of Tinwood Vineyard Estate anytime between 11:00 am and 11:30 am.

Form the Chichester Retail Park go eastwards along the A27 and after the reservoir on the left take the slip road A285 signed Petworth. After about a mile after the Anglesea Arms on the right (now closed) turn right into Tinwood Vineyard. After about 1/2 mile turn right into their car park.

Jeremy and Johanna will lay a trail with 6K or 10K options, including a run around Halnaker Windmill and “an out and back extension”. Expect slippery conditions! All participants run at own risk and must report in and out to the Trail Organiser. 

PS:

Good luck to everyone running over the weekend to include on Saturday the “Garlands” who are running in the National XC Championships and on Sunday those at Brighton for  their Half Marathon. Do let John have a note of your race results please.
