Although well into his 30’s, there seems to be no stopping James Baker in his domination of the local running scene. In early September James made headlines in Athletics Weekly by winning two races in a single day.
Firstly James left the other 1000 runners in his wake at the Littlehampton Coastal Challenge 10K Road Race before going on to Fittleworth for their multi-terrain 5 miler and notch up another race win for an aggregate winning margin of over three minutes for the two events on the same morning. Then following his win in the Valley Challenge last Saturday, the Chichester runner travelled along the coast for the Hove Prom 10K on Sunday to leave the rest of the field trailing by over two and half minutes to record a fast time of 32 minutes 30 seconds, just 6 seconds outside his best for the year. Needless to say, James will be spearheading Chichester’s senior team at the Sussex Cross Country Relays at Goodwood this Saturday before going to Butser Hill for a Category "B" Fell Race the following day.
