Chichester Runners uses Spond to book training and trail run places. The app is also used for a lot of communications with and between members.

The club has 2 separate Groups on Spond - one for trail runs and one for training sessions. When you join the club, you will automatically get an email that contains the codes you need to join the two Groups. Trail-run only members will obviously only need one of the codes.

The best and easiest way to use Spond is through the mobile app:
1. Download the free app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
2. Register and create a profile in the app
3. In the "Groups" tab, press the "Enter code" button near the bottom right corner and follow the instructions.

It is also a good idea to go to the 'Push notifications' part of your profile in the app and change the settings to make Spond less attention seeking. The default alert settings will drive you nuts.

Chichester Runners does not currently take payments through Spond, so there is no need to save your card details in the app.

When you enter the club's joining codes, our volunteer admins will get an alert and have to approve your request before you can enter the system and book places for events. Bear with us if that takes a day or two.

For the training Group, the club's coaches will also need to allocate you to a suitable training session. You can help them find one that is right for you by replying to the acknowledgement email with some information about your running level (your usual 5k time is a good guide, if you know it) and preferred night for training. Most sessions are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

If you aren't able to install the Spond app on a smartphone then it is also possible to use the system through a web browser. Reply to the membership acknowledgement email and ask to be added to the system manually.
