To coincide with the 1 mile world record-attempt at the Diamond League later in July, Chichester Runners is hosting the “Night of the Mile PBs”, on the Phil Baker Athletics Track on Thursday 16th July 2026.
This evening fixture, with race start times between 6pm and 9pm, will be super-inclusive, with 1 mile runs for all abilities and everyone over 16, on our new athletics track in the city centre.
The format of our new track, the precursor to (some would say the inspiration for) the new England Athletics 300m ‘nextGen’ track concept, has none of the intimidation of a regular 400m athletics track; family, friends, and supporters will be up close to the athletes as they make their way round 5½ laps to record their 1 mile personal best.
